We had a bumper crop of House Sparrows this year. Several nest boxes were full and a few pairs made homes in the barn rafters. All this activity brought visits from Kestrels, Sharp-shinned and Cooper’s Hawks. The tangle of grape vines provided a safe haven for the wary.
