 A Kingbird family had moved into our garden for a little over a week, the young perched on dead tree branches waiting for food from the parents. From my studio window I watched as an adult would snap bees and other insects out of the air as they buzzed about in the garden. Then one day while bent over weeding I heard a bee in one of the Hollyhock flowers. Looking up to study it I noticed I was not the only one who knew it was there. The bird is a hunter.....the bee the gatherer.
